Chapter 2: The Beautiful, Wealthy Academic Prodigy

Chapter 2: The Beautiful, Wealthy Academic Prodigy

Before her death, she recalled watching the live broadcast of the Ding Tai Awards ceremony that night, where Bai Yu won the Best Actress award, adding another golden trophy to her collection and becoming a double award-winning actress.

At the time, she had fantasized that it was her standing on that stage, holding the trophy, dressed in an extravagant gown, smiling as she thanked her devoted fans.

"You must fulfill this wish to complete your task."

The system paid no heed to her sorrow and continued mechanically, "System 009, Host, please choose: 1. Receive all information immediately. 2. Receive information gradually over three days. Defaulting to immediate reception in 20 seconds."

An Wen could feel the weakness of this body and feared it wouldn’t withstand too much at once, so she said, "I choose to receive the information gradually over three days."

A mechanical voice responded, "Transmitting information now..."

An Wen, the young daughter of the An Group. Her father was the chairman of An Group, her mother the second daughter of the Wu Group and a renowned painter. Her grandfather was a retired military commander, and her grandmother, once a military doctor, now owned Huaguo Neiyuan Hospital. She had an older brother who was already the CEO of An Group.

An Wen had been highly intelligent since childhood, with enough competition awards to fill an entire room. At 15 years old, she was a first-year student at Di Cheng No. 1 High School.

In her previous life, she had no background whatsoever, as if to compensate, her current background was downright terrifying.

But there was one more thing—her face!

She walked to the bathroom mirror. Her skin was flawless, snow-white, with not a single blemish despite being bare-faced. Her peach blossom eyes glistened, naturally framed by a faint pink hue that made her look pitifully delicate. Her nose was elegantly cute, and her cherry lips had a perfect shape, though slightly pale from weakness, only enhancing her fragile charm. Her long, straight black hair parted in the middle cascaded smoothly down, though a small section near her right temple was matted with dried blood.

This face—it was one she wouldn’t have dared to dream of in her past life. In all her years in the entertainment industry, she had never seen anyone surpass this level of beauty.

Moving to the full-length mirror beside her, An Wen stood before it. Her hair reached her waist, and she wore a cute round-neck lace-trimmed nightgown that fell to her knees. Lifting the hem, she revealed legs that were long, straight, and as fair as jade. Her figure was already well-developed for a 15-year-old, surpassing even her previous self.

With looks like these, it would be a shame not to enter the entertainment industry.

"System, will you help me?" An Wen asked.

"I will remind you when you complete your tasks and erase you if you fail!" The mechanical voice echoed in her mind.

This seemed to be the system’s final words, as no matter how much An Wen called out afterward, it remained silent, as if it had vanished.

Unlike other systems, this one offered no assistance whatsoever. Fortunately, An Wen had spent twelve years in the entertainment industry and had seen all kinds of filth.

Still, the complete lack of help left her somewhat disappointed.

(System 009 wanted to roll its eyes. It wasn’t that it refused to help—it was just that her previous life’s ambition had been to climb to the top entirely on her own. It had already done its best to create favorable conditions for her. The rest was up to her.)

As she cleaned up the scene, she slowly absorbed the original owner’s memories.

She was currently in a rebellious phase, feeling her parents were too controlling, and had insisted on returning to China, transferring to Di Cheng No. 1 High School. Speaking of which, she had only attended classes there for two weeks before directly claiming the top spot on the school's grade ranking. After that, she took leave and stayed home. An Wen didn't yet know why she had taken leave, but since she had become the owner of this body, she would have to continue living her predecessor's life.
