Chapter 21
Chapter 21
Under Li Ran's lead, the trio quickly gathered all the equipment scattered on the ground before escorting Liu Kuang back to the Beginner's Village for treatment and to sell their loot.
Meanwhile, after Qin Han charged into the Mysterious Tomb, his surroundings abruptly opened up. Thick, load-bearing pillars surrounded him, and the entire space was constructed from sand-colored stone. Each pillar bore an Eternal Lamp, illuminating the area brightly.
Within the space, black sheep wandered aimlessly. Qin Han raised his bow and casually shot one. A critical hit of over 1,000 damage floated up, followed by the additional damage from the Witch Poison Pearl. The target was poisoned, and its health bar— At the same time, the monster's name appeared:
Tomb Sheep: Level 2 Monster
Health: 2,000 points.
This was a type of sheep active in tombs, attacking anything unfamiliar. The Tomb Sheep, struck by the attack, turned its head and charged at Qin Han. But after just a few steps, the toxin from the Witch Poison Pearl drained its health bar completely.
With a bleat, a cluster of experience floated into Qin Han's body.
Experience Gained.
Enough experience accumulated. Level up?
"No, not for now," Qin Han chose not to level up. At the same time, he was surprised. These sheep had absurdly high health—five times that of ordinary Level 2 monsters. However, their high health also meant they granted three times the usual experience for Level 2 monsters.
Moreover, the Tomb Sheep were slow-witted and easy to kill. In terms of efficiency, farming them was far better than hunting high-level monsters with similar health pools. It was an excellent grinding spot for new players.
"Then again, it makes sense. This Mysterious Tomb is so remote that few in the Myriad Realms' Beginner's Village can unlock it. If not for the Myriad Realms Forum, I wouldn’t even have known this place existed in the Wild Bull Grassland. Hidden locations like this naturally offer rich rewards."
After scanning the environment, Qin Han urged Nightmare forward. This layer was enormous—even riding Nightmare, it took him over ten minutes to circle it. Along the walls, he found five downward passages.
"According to that guide I read, this Mysterious Tomb has nineteen layers, each with five descending passages. You must choose the correct sequence to reach the bottom. Otherwise, the interconnected passages will trap you, making it impossible to reach the deepest layer even after a lifetime of wandering."
"The method written in the guide was left, left, right, right, left, left, left, right… Good thing I remember, or this would be a nightmare."
Struggling to recall the guide’s instructions, Qin Han continued descending. The tomb’s monsters were peculiar—each layer increased their level by one, and they were all variants of sheep: Wool Sheep, Lake Sheep, Beach Sheep, Yellow Sheep, each distinct.
Fortunately, these sheep weren’t particularly fast, nor were there too many of them. He avoided combat entirely, smoothly arriving at the entrance of the eighteenth layer.
Taking a deep breath, he steeled himself. The nineteenth layer was the Boss Room of this hidden tomb. The monsters on the eighteenth layer were already Level 19—the Boss Room’s creature would likely be Level 20.
After a brief rest, Qin Han rode Nightmare and leaped down in a single bound.
Stepping into the Boss Room, Qin Han almost thought he had entered the wrong place. Unlike the crumbling stone ruins of the eighteen floors above, this Boss Room was vast and opulent. Crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling, which was adorned with intricate murals. Even the stone pillars were carved with reliefs. A red carpet stretched down the center, leading to a scene where a thousand strong long-haired white sheep knelt in perfect formation, their devotion laid out like a square carpet.
At the very front, before a semicircular golden bookshelf, a goat-headed humanoid figure sat high upon a throne crafted from a metal carriage, its head crowned with a golden diadem, held aloft with pride.
