Chapter 8
Chapter 8
Staring at the World Announcement, most people across the Myriad Realms were stunned.
Damn, it hadn’t even been half a day since the game started.
Most were still wandering around the Beginner's Square like curious babies, admiring flowers and grass.
Yet someone had already obtained two Unique Treasures.
A Unique Treasure, no less, and a World Announcement—this person must be incredibly powerful.
At this rate, who could possibly stand against them?
How is anyone supposed to keep playing?
Might as well just lie down and wait for death.
What kind of game is this?!
Almost instantly, Qin Han became the object of envy and hatred for everyone in the Myriad Realms.
In Beginner's Village Y120131, the Woman in White paused, her delicate brows furrowing slightly.
"If the first time was luck, then twice in a row must be skill."
"This Qin Han will undoubtedly carve out a place for himself in the future of the Myriad Realms. He deserves close attention!"
In Beginner's Village 688, the crowd erupted once more.
"Another Unique Treasure, and it’s Qin Han again—it’s probably the same person as before."
"Is this guy the heavens’ illegitimate child or something? Why is he so favored?"
"This is a World Announcement! Even in the ordinary online games I’ve played before, only the absolute top players could trigger server-wide notifications."
"In this vast universe, being announced like this—I dare say, this person must be from some unimaginably advanced civilization, the absolute pinnacle of existence!"
"Don’t say that. I was kind of hoping it was our Qin Han from Village 688. You’re crushing my dreams here."
"Our village? Give it up. I checked—that Qin Han is still level zero. He probably hasn’t even figured out the game yet, just wandering around the village."
"At such a crucial time when the game just started, not leveling up—what kind of future does someone like that have?"
"Look at Liu Kuang, now that’s a true powerhouse. I heard he didn’t even stop for lunch and is still grinding monsters."
"That’s the kind of role model we should follow!"
Deep in the Beginner's Grassland, on his way to hunt more Wild Bulls, Liu Kuang casually opened the Chat Area and saw people talking about him.
He smirked proudly
but didn’t respond.
Those World Announcements? He didn’t care.
Who was Qin Han? He had no interest.
All he cared about was dominating this Beginner's Village.
As the saying goes, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
What’s out of reach isn’t yours—
only what you can grasp is truly valuable.
That first Constitution boost from leveling up? Now that was real, tangible benefit!
At the Archery Training Grounds, having secured all his rewards, Qin Han didn’t linger.
"Goodbye, Instructor."
He mounted his horse and had only galloped a few steps
when he suddenly turned back.
"Almost forgot something."
"Instructor, if possible, once I’m strong enough, maybe I can help you find your beloved."
The Archery Instructor trembled at his words.
"You mean… Hong Lian… she’s still alive?"
Qin Han: "The dead cannot return, but souls must go somewhere. Hong Lian was no weaker than you—her soul might still linger in some corner of the universe."
Upon hearing this, The Archery Instructor trembled uncontrollably, His gaze more resolute than ever before:
"If... if you can help me find Hong Lian, I swear on my life to pledge my loyalty to you from this day forward!"
[System: Archery Instructor's Favorability +20]
[Epic Quest: Lonely Soul's Redemption. Head to the Spirit Realm to find Hong Lian's soul, lift the curse upon her, and reunite her with the Archery Instructor.]
Qin Han was overjoyed at the sight.
This was an Epic Quest!
Throughout the entire game's history, quests worthy of being called "Epic" were exceedingly rare.
Moreover, Epic Quests were always unique!
Completing one would guarantee at least one Heavenly Dao Point.
There was even a chance to obtain a supreme treasure!
Not to mention, this quest alone would secure the allegiance of a powerful figure like the Archery Instructor.
His earlier words had merely been a sudden recollection of a vast game world in the later stages—the Spirit Realm.
It was the resting place for the souls of the universe's mightiest warriors. Those who reached a certain level of strength would have their souls ascend to the Spirit Realm after death.
Who would have thought that a single offhand remark could trigger an Epic Quest?
This was nothing short of a windfall.
"Instructor, until we meet again!"
With a solemn fist salute, Qin Han turned his steed and galloped away.
Mounted on Nightmare, he charged down the mountain.
When he first arrived, he had been penniless, clad in nothing but a simple cloth robe, Forced to flee from even moderately powerful monsters.
Now, with Nightmare's speed alone, he dared to cut straight through the Beginner's Village's monster zones.
The descent was treacherous, but Nightmare's iron hooves made it feel like flat ground.
The earth raced beneath them, And in the blink of an eye, Qin Han reached the forest.
Hiss, hiss!
A familiar sound rang out.
The Giant Serpent that had left earlier had actually returned.
This creature was utterly domineering, Blocking the path like a highway bandit.
As Qin Han approached, its eyes gleamed with a bloodthirsty chill.
A visitor meant food.
Tonight's dinner was secured!
Humans must be delicious!
Without hesitation, it opened its maw and lunged at Qin Han like lightning, Its vicious fangs determined to tear its prey to shreds!
However, Times had changed.
The once-terrified Qin Han now felt not a shred of fear.
"Nightmare, flank it!"
Qin Han commanded calmly.
True to its name as a divine steed, Nightmare was incredibly intelligent.
At Qin Han's order, it planted its hooves and pivoted, Effortlessly dodging the Giant Serpent's strike and creating ample distance.
As the serpent turned its head, Qin Han summoned the Godslayer Bow
And loosed an arrow.
The defense-piercing energy bolt shot straight into the Giant Serpent's body.
Simultaneously, the serpent's name appeared—crimson text marked with a red skull icon.
A monster five levels higher than the player would display a red name.
The red skull indicated this Giant Serpent was merely a common foe.
Then, A damage number floated high: -101!
Qin Han smirked.
Constitution governed all attributes:
10 points equaled 1 Attack and 30 HP.
His starting stat of 10 Constitution meant 1 Attack.
The Godslayer Bow has one hundred attack points, totaling 101. Combined with its ability to ignore defense, the damage it deals is equivalent to true damage. The Giant Serpent has around 3000 health points. With each arrow dealing 101 damage, roughly thirty shots would be enough to finish it off—already highly efficient. But it could be even better! Qin Han drew his bow, aimed, and predicted the Giant Serpent's trajectory. With a whoosh, an arrow struck its seven-inch weak point. A yellow damage number floated up—a critical hit, dealing tenfold damage!
