Chapter 1: A Free Godhood Upon Transmigration?

After carefully examining the Mithril Ring before him and confirming that the magical runes were flawless, Yu Sheng'an let out a sigh of relief... It was finally complete.

Without hesitation, he eagerly activated the Mithril Ring.

Instantly, an illusory scroll unfurled before him.

At the center of the scroll, three bold characters written in Azerian Hieroglyphs stood out prominently:

Internet!

Success!

Yu Sheng'an clenched his fist, excitement surging in his heart.

In a daze, he seemed to envision the scene where, after spreading the concept of the Internet across the Azer continent, countless people would fervently embrace it.

By then, wouldn’t Source Essence come pouring in?

And he—he would undoubtedly become the most powerful deity in Azer!

Hah... daydreaming again.

He didn’t expect the Internet to cause some massive sensation upon its introduction. All he wanted was to earn enough Source Essence to return to his homeland, Blue Star.

At the thought of Blue Star, Yu Sheng'an couldn’t suppress a pang of melancholy.

He wasn’t a native of this chaotic, multifaceted world filled with magic, divine arts, battle aura, and all sorts of other bizarre powers.

He came from Blue Star, a world thriving with technology.

The reason he ended up here was utterly absurd.

The God of Contracts of the multiverse, Tang En, had been ambushed by the Five Great Righteous Gods. In his dying moments, to prevent his Godhood from falling into enemy hands, he burned all his Source Essence to cast a summoning divine spell, piercing through countless dimensional worlds to summon Yu Sheng'an from Blue Star.

However, Yu Sheng'an never arrived at the battlefield.

Midway, Tang En had already formed a "Godhood Inheritance Contract" with him, using the power of divine rules to transfer the Contract Godhood to Yu Sheng'an.

Thus, Yu Sheng'an, inexplicably summoned, inherited the supreme divine authority—something countless people could only dream of—in such a dramatic fashion.

Guided by the Godhood, Yu Sheng'an arrived at Tang En’s Divine Palace—a castle drifting in the dimensional gaps of the Azer continent.

After weathering the initial shock, confusion, disorientation, and fear of the unknown, time eventually forced Yu Sheng'an to accept reality.

He began to ponder his present situation and future.

On the surface, the present seemed wonderful—he had become the new God of Contracts.

In reality, it was terrible. Though he had inherited the Contract Godhood, "a man’s wealth is his own ruin."

The Godhood would inevitably attract the covetous eyes of other deities!

Even Tang En hadn’t escaped the hunt of the gods—so how long could he hide?

Fortunately, this ancient castle of the Divine Palace drifted unpredictably, and now, bolstered by the Godhood, as long as he didn’t court death, he should be able to hide for a while.

As for the future?

Yu Sheng'an wanted to return to Blue Star.

There, he had brothers, friends, and most importantly, parents. No matter how flawed it was, he still wanted to go back and see it. Besides, now that he had obtained divine power, wouldn’t his return be a triumphant homecoming?

If Tang En could summon him here, then there must be a way for him to return.

And absolute power was the only universal solution to all his present and future troubles.

Speaking of power, after gradually adapting to and understanding the Contract Godhood, Yu Sheng'an’s expression turned peculiar.

Contrary to his expectations, the Contract Godhood itself possessed no offensive or defensive capabilities.

To be precise, it was the embodiment of the rules or authority of contracts, powered by Source Essence and enforced through language and writing.

For example:

Yu Sheng'an possessed no inherent power of his own, but if he could come into contact with a dragon and persuade it to sign a relevant contract, he could indirectly obtain the dragon's strength.

The specific power gained would depend on the terms of the contract—be it a Life-Sharing Contract, a Mana-Sharing Contract, or even an Enslavement Contract.

Of course, contracting a dragon required an enormous amount of Source Essence.

At present, Yu Sheng'an's reserves of Source Essence had fallen to a historic low.

This was because Tang En had exhausted centuries of accumulated Source Essence to summon him—a human who could evade the tracking and interception of the Five Great Righteous Gods.

So, what exactly was Source Essence, and how could it be obtained?

Source Essence was something every person possessed, embedded within their souls.

The more powerful the soul, the more Source Essence it naturally generated.

Unfortunately, even souls as mighty as those of gods produced only a limited amount of Source Essence naturally. After ten days or half a month of accumulation, it would barely be enough to activate the Godhood at a superficial level.

This was undoubtedly pitifully inefficient!

But the gods had devised a solution.

That was to extract and hoard Source Essence from the masses, gathering grains of sand to form a tower.

There were many methods, but two were mainstream.

First, spreading religion. Second, disseminating Divine Techniques.

Spreading religion involved designing specific prayers in designated places to collect Source Essence from believers in bulk.

The Five Great Righteous Gods followed precisely this path.

They rejected the spread of other gods' religions, decreeing in their doctrines that all deities outside the Five Great Righteous Gods were evil gods or heretics.

Once discovered, they would mobilize their forces to eradicate them!

Thus, this path was unsuitable for Yu Sheng'an—at least for now.

That left the second option: spreading Divine Techniques.

Divine Techniques were essentially special methods by which the power of the Godhood was temporarily lent to mortals in exchange for Source Essence as payment.

For example, the Summoning Divine Technique created by Tang En.

As long as both parties agreed, it could establish a binding contractual relationship between them.

After learning about Divine Techniques, Yu Sheng'an's first thought was: Isn't this just "patented technology, paywalled knowledge"?

Considering that the Contract Godhood derived its power from language and written words, a bold idea began brewing in Yu Sheng'an's mind.

He would use the linguistic and textual authority of the Contract Godhood to create a Mystical Social Platform.

Beyond just a social platform, he could even transplant the entire concept of the Internet from Earth.

Then, countless "phone zombies" would contribute an endless stream of Source Essence to him!

Fortune favors the diligent.

Or rather, given Yu Sheng'an's mastery over language and text, creating a Mystical Social Platform was almost effortless.

"Luo Xiya!" Yu Sheng'an called out in his mind.

"Master, what are your orders?" A graceful figure silently emerged from the wall of the alchemy chamber.

She was the steward of the Divine Palace, appearing to be around eighteen years old—her eyes bright and clear, her nose elegantly straight, dressed in a little black dress with a pearl necklace, exuding a mature yet alluring charm.

The first time Yu Sheng'an saw her, he had been genuinely stunned.

What a pity—such a beauty, yet only a spirit.

"Next time, use the door!" Yu Sheng'an's eyelid twitched.

"As you wish." Luo Xiya lowered her gaze obediently.

Yu Sheng'an tossed the Mithril Ring to her. "Try out my new Divine Technique!"

Luo Xiya nodded, accepting the ring and activating it.

In an instant, the Virtual Scroll unfurled before her, and a strand of profound usage information flowed into her consciousness.

With a thought, she touched the words "Internet" with her Soul Power, and the scroll's interface abruptly transformed into a sheet of Parchment.

If any People of Blue Star were present, they would surely spit their soda all over it!

This was practically a simplified version of the Social Software interface from Blue Star.

"How does it feel?" Yu Sheng'an asked, needing feedback from a native of this world.

"My Lord's new Divine Technique is something Luo Xiya has never heard of before—truly ingenious!"

Luo Xiya offered a respectful and humble evaluation, though inwardly, she was somewhat dismissive.

Multiple people chatting online at the same time?

Everyone was far too busy—peasants scrambling for food, mercenaries buried in missions, mages engrossed in research, noble lords obsessed with hoarding wealth...

Who had time to chat?

And to waste precious magical artifacts on it?

She was certain this Divine Technique would only end up as a plaything for the wealthy.
