Chapter 6: Daisova's Shock

"Master, did you add this rule just for me?"

The moment Luo Xiya saw the featured post, this thought popped into her mind.

But the next second, she instinctively dismissed it.

"It must be a coincidence, right?"

Yet, why did this "pinned and featured" post appear only after her heated debate with others?

Recalling her master's earlier mention of Sadako, the two pieces of evidence aligned, and Luo Xiya's heart suddenly fluttered with unease.

At the same time, far away in Willis City, the capital of the Keville Empire, a young white-robed magic apprentice was equally unsettled.

Anger, shame, pain, relief… a whirlwind of emotions churned within him, leaving a bitter taste in his mouth.

His name was Daisova.

A magic apprentice at the Felix Magic Academy, he was a prominent figure in the institution.

Twice, he had ranked first in his grade during exams.

As a second-year student, he had even optimized a second-level magic spell—though it was merely a six-degree angle magic pattern, the achievement was still remarkable.

After all, he had been just an apprentice at the time!

Of course, many believed he was already a qualified mage, having only yet to undergo the formal assessment for the title of "Apprentice Mage."

All of this had inflated his ego.

He even looked down on some of the academy's teachers, dismissing them as mere "rule-followers"—human-shaped magic books, nothing more.

But the recent debate had utterly crushed him.

The whole affair was rather surreal.

Recently, he had heard rumors of a new divine technique appearing in Willis City. True to his scholarly nature, he casually obtained it to examine, keeping it as a backup.

Though it was said that "those who use divine techniques will inevitably be watched by the gods," everyone had to admit that divine techniques possessed unparalleled power—forces that defied explanation or substitution.

Take, for example, the Contract Document.

In the history of divine techniques, it held an absolutely pivotal role.

It enabled countless transactions to proceed without the need for third-party guarantees—or rather, the Contract Godhood itself served as the universally trusted third-party guarantor.

But back to the main topic.

After acquiring the Internet Divine Technique, Daisova quickly recognized its practicality.

If not for the drawback of "being watched by the gods," it would have been the perfect communication magic.

It could adapt to countless scenarios—mercenary groups, merchant guilds, kingdoms… the possibilities were endless.

Unfortunately, its flaw was too glaring.

He’d bet his toes that aside from the lower-class poor, no high-ranking figure would ever use it.

After all, who would want their private lives spied on? If this so-called Internet God turned out to be biased or even an enemy, it would spell disaster.

Still, Daisova kept the Mithril Ring.

Why? Just as a collector’s item!

But then, two days ago, a friend suddenly told him that new content had appeared on the Internet.

The Internet God had publicly shared the world’s most precious wealth of knowledge—including forbidden magic that only the God of Magic could wield.

This discovery utterly shocked Daisova, even captivating him!

After all, even in magic academies, advanced magical knowledge was closely guarded. Unless one became a teacher or served the academy, accessing such high-level spells was nearly impossible.

As Daisova hesitated over whether this was the temptation of an evil god, deliberately driving users to spread his Divine Techniques, he discovered that a Forum had emerged on the Internet.

Through this Forum, he was stunned to realize that the Internet Divine Technique had long since infiltrated humanity—only they hadn’t known it yet.

The posters came from all walks of life:

Commoners, mercenaries, merchants, nobles, mages, warriors… far too many to count.

This discovery shook Daisova’s perception of the Internet Divine Technique.

But what truly dismantled his reservations was the recent debate.

Originally, he had seen someone asking about a piece of magical knowledge, with several people offering answers—but their replies were wildly incorrect.

Unable to resist the itch to correct them, he instinctively posted his own response.

His answer immediately drew countless likes and comments.

Watching the endless stream of notifications, even someone as renowned as Daisova couldn’t suppress a swell of pride!

What youth isn’t a little arrogant?

Yet just as he was basking in his triumph, someone refuted his argument.

How could Daisova tolerate being questioned?

He immediately launched into a heated debate.

Little did he know, this argument would span hundreds of replies.

Their discussion ranged from beginner-level magic to advanced magical theories Daisova had yet to touch.

In the end, the facts proved Daisova wrong.

His argument was too narrow, only applicable to low and mid-tier magic. Once it entered the realm of advanced magic, his reasoning collapsed entirely.

Daisova was dumbfounded!

He couldn’t believe the knowledge his magic academy had taught him was wrong!

As that anonymous user put it: "The Abyss Formula is still too complex for you, so to save trouble, your academy likely won’t mention this point to avoid confusing you with paradoxes. Once you reach the level of an Archmage, your teacher will naturally explain it to you!"

An Archmage?

Their academy had barely twenty Archmages. Across the entire empire, there were probably no more than a thousand.

They were the pillars of the empire!

And the only ones qualified to teach Archmages were Grand Archmages.

Yet judging by the other party’s tone, Archmages seemed utterly insignificant.

Just how profound was their magical expertise?

An Archmage? A Grand Archmage? Or… the God of Magic?

Daisova was struck with overwhelming shock, his worldview shattered and then rebuilt.

He no longer trusted his academy’s teachers.

Nor could he view the Internet Divine Technique with his old prejudices.

For the first time, he realized that outside the academy, he could actually learn magical knowledge from a Divine Technique—and even encounter figures far surpassing his own instructors!

Yes, he was certain: the mage who had debated him must have a mastery of magic far beyond his teachers.

In his mind, he even began to sketch the other’s image:

A white-bearded elder, draped in the violet robes of a Grand Archmage—kind, wise, and patient.

One who appreciated the ambition of younger talents and was willing to guide them.

Unlike the academy’s teachers, who acted inscrutable, dismissing inquiries with "This is beyond your level" before refusing to elaborate. In truth, they probably didn’t understand it themselves.

At this thought, a question arose in Daisova’s mind:

Why would such a towering figure be willing to use the Internet Divine Technique?

Didn't he know the common knowledge among mages that "Those who use divine techniques will inevitably be watched by the gods"?

No, he must have known.

Yet he still used them, which shows that this Internet God is benevolent.

Indeed, look at the Internet God—publicly sharing all mainstream cultivation systems, including not only those of the Five Great Righteous Gods but also the divine techniques of mainstream evil gods and false gods.

What kind of inclusiveness is this?

Now compare that to the so-called Five Great Righteous Gods and evil gods, who, for the sake of their believers, constantly incite violence and label all other divine techniques as heretical and evil techniques, except their own.

Against such a backdrop, how can one not see the Internet God’s vision and magnanimity?

At this moment, Daisova finally understood the meaning behind the peculiar term "Internet."

He was also deeply moved by the Internet God’s generosity!

"Daisova! Daisova!"

Just then, an urgent voice called from outside as his friend Lides rushed in, his face alight with excitement and disbelief. "Was that featured post on the forum yours?"

Daisova froze. "How... did you know?"
